  • Expertise:Nano Technology, Hydrogen Energy

I'm the founder of the alternative energy and nanotechnology laboratory at Physics department, IITM in 2001. I've found a balance between fundamental studies and technology innovations in nanotechnology, mainly for energy and environment.

I guided 55 PhD students, published 460 plus scientific journals and filed more than 60 patents, but these didn't come easily.

I addressed the issues related to the synthesis of high-quality carbon nanotubes and reduced graphene oxide and their composites besides metal oxide nanotubes. My research interests further include the applications of these nanomaterials for energy and environment areas.

My current passions are scientific talks; GH2 production by seawater/groundwater/industrial wastewater/RO reject water electrolysis, solid state hydrogen storage; NH3 production from greenhouse gases; secondary batteries; PEMFC; Nanotechnology Research; carbon nanocomposites for environment and energy.

Some of the achievements to my name.

Expertise

We can provide services mainly to startups, universities, research institutes and energy care researchers who like to develop cutting-edge synthesis facilities of CNT, graphene, and metal oxide nanotubes. With a strong scientific background and sound operating principles of manufacturing nanocomposites and catalysts, we can offer scientific and technical solutions to the fields of nanocatalysts and nanocomposites to produce materials that meet high-quality international standards.

What Services you will Get from me!

Nano Technology, Hydrogen Energy

At IIT Madras, we synthesise multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs), by a novel technique using catalytic decomposition of acetylene over alloy-hydride catalysts. More>>

Sensors, Energy Applications

Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is one of the most promising candidates for the reliable and efficient conversion of chemical energy of the hydrogen fuel into electrical energy. More>>

Nanofluids & Nanolubricants

The low thermal conductivity of conventional heat transfer fluids is the major limitation in effective removal of the heat generated in heat exchangers, radiators, electrical motors and generators. More >>
